Macao Straight for Melfi, waiting for pier 41.

The General Cargo Ship Macco Straight, running for Melfi, arrived a day early today from Lisbon Portugal. She is scheduled to tie up at pier 41/42 tomorrow. Those piers are currently occupied by ZIM Constanza and Ernest Hemingway, so she will spend the day at anchor in the Inner harbour.
The Parade of new vessels for Melfi continues with a first call for Macao Straight. Built in 2008, she is part of the Rehder Reederei fleet, which seems to supply the majority of vessels used on Melfi’s route. Macao Straight arrived yesterday afternoon and tied up at pier 41, using 2 tugs
The Parade of vessels for Melfi continues, with the Ocean Emerald arriving yesterday. As of this morning, Cargo operations appear to have ended, so she is likely waiting out weather. Melfi seems to run a parade of vessels, some vessels being stable on rotation, and others switching out every trip.
Yesterday brought the weekly stop for Melfi lines, with the “Jan S”. Melfi is currently running 3 vessels to Halifax – Jan S, Fritz Reuter, and Amanda. Melfi has suffered some vessel turnover in the last year, with 3 vessels going to scrap. You can read All Mefli Posts here
The container ship FRITZ REUTER Arrived on the 27th for Melfi lines. She is running as a replacement for the Michael A. It is unclear if this is a permenant change or if the Michael A will return to the route. The ship was built in 2006 and is named for
another new Vessel for Melfi Lines is Amanda. She is on Charter to Melfi, and is owned by the United Africa Feeder Lines. Built in 2000, she carries 1730TEU
The Michel A Arrived around 12:30. She is one of the new vessels covering Melfi’s Service, Replacing the Renate Schulte. She has been on the capture list for a while, and today schedules worked out.
The (Small) Container vessel Coast spent the day at pier 42 for Melfi. Equipment to Move the old crane form 42 to 36 was being transfered, though the Zhen Hua 19 remained at pier 41. the 2 new cranes can be seen in the background.
The Container Vessel Coast called over the wekend for Melfi. She spent Saturday at anchor in the basin, presumably waiting out weather. She moved to Pier 41 Sunday morning, and is still there, though she has appears to have completed cargo Operations
