Northern delegation Spent Sunday at Fairview Cove filling in on the ACL Service, to fill the gap between the retirement of Atlantic Compass and the Entering of service of Atlantic Star. A PCTC is also filling in- covering teh RO-RO portion of the Route..
In what I believe is a first, a Pure Car/Truck Carrier has tied up at pier 9. The Glovis Century arrived, rotated 180 degrees and tied up. She is likely unloading project cargo or heavy equipment. Autoport is occupied as is pier 29/30 where car carriers normally tie up. UPDATE:
The photo above appeared on my Twitter feed today. The ship New York News split in two and sank loading salt in Pugwash . The vessel originally carried newsprint for New York papers, but was sold and had recently been lengthened. The vessel was salvaged, towed to Halifax and repaired.
The Caribbean Princess arrived at the pilot station at 6:30 and tied up at pier 22 just after 7.
with much blowing of horns, Celebrity Summit and Oceanex Sanderling both departed just before 7 tonight. Sanderling is headed for St John’s Nf, and the Summit for Bayone New Jersey.
USCG Morrow Bay put in this morning bound from the Great Lakes to Boston. Shes probably headed for a pre-winter work period, as these tugs work the lakes breaking ice in winter.
