The Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron is the host club in 2013 for Canada\u2019s national regatta for sailors with disabilities. Racing takes place from August 27th to the 30th, with arrival and practice taking place from August 24th to the 26th. <\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;\"><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"line-height: 115%;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"line-height: 115%; margin-bottom: 7.5pt;\">\n<span lang=\"EN-CA\" style=\"color: #1f2a38; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;\">Vancouver\u2019s Sam<br \/>\nSullivan founded the Mobility Cup in 1991 by inviting key individuals<br \/>\nfrom other cities to take part in a sailing regatta, whether they had<br \/>\never sailed before or not, in an effort to promote and grow the sport of<br \/>\n disabled sailing. The initiative has been an outstanding success. New<br \/>\ndisabled sailing organizations began popping up in cities across Canada<br \/>\nand the United States. The sport is now world-wide and has been key part<br \/>\n of each Paralympics Summer Games since 2000 after being a demonstration<br \/>\n sport in 1996.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"line-height: 115%;\">\n<span lang=\"EN-CA\" style=\"color: #1f2a38; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;\">Each year&#8217;s Mobility Cup regatta remains a<br \/>\nvehicle for initiating new programs or supporting existing ones.<br \/>\nMobility Cup 2013 at the RNSYS will be no different.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"line-height: 115%;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"line-height: 115%;\">\n<span lang=\"EN-CA\" style=\"color: #1f2a38; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;\">\u201cThe RNSYS is looking forward to hosting the<br \/>\n 2013 Mobility Cup to help grow disabled sailing programs in the<br \/>\nregion,\u201d says regatta chair Michael Archibald. \u201cIt will also be an<br \/>\nimportant trial run for the International Federation of Disabled Sailors<br \/>\n World Championships the Squadron is hosting in 2014.\u201d <\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; line-height: 115%;\">\n<span style=\"color: #373737; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-US;\">The<br \/>\n Mobility Cup is recognized as Canada\u2019s national regatta for sailors<br \/>\nwith disabilities. Through the use of innovative technology, Canada has<br \/>\nbecome a leader in making sailing accessible to people with all forms of<br \/>\n disability. Disabled people from across Canada and the US are invited<br \/>\nto participate.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; line-height: 115%;\">\n<span style=\"color: #373737; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-US;\">This<br \/>\n is only the second time the regatta has taken place in Nova Scotia.
