The crew apparently ran out of food 3 days out of Halifax.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/atlantic.ctvnews.ca\/bolivian-boat-detained-in-halifax-due-to-poor-conditions-1.1085955\">CTV News Reports<\/a>:<br \/>\nIt came in out of the weather to the Port of Halifax,\u201d says Michele<br \/>\nPeverill of the Halifax Port Authority. \u201cTransport Canada did an<br \/>\ninspection and noted deficiencies that need to be repaired before it can<br \/>\n leave port.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aboard the boat are eight Honduran sailors, who ran out of food and water three days ago.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cOn the boat is, ah, right now, is no water, no food, it\u2019s kind of<br \/>\ntough on the boat right now. We get here, it\u2019s better. We get a lot of<br \/>\nhelp here,\u201d says Chief Mate Pedro Andrade.<\/p>\n<p> Help has come from the Mission to Seafarers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first thing we did this morning was take breakfast onboard for<br \/>\nthem and some hot coffee. We supplied food again at lunchtime,\u201d says<br \/>\nMission to Seafarers co-ordinator Maggie Wittingham-Lamont.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no water to bathe, we had a couple of jugs for drinking,\u201d says Andrade.<\/p>\n<p> Jim Stonehouse says his company, Atship, is fronting money, taking care<br \/>\n of humanitarian needs and even took one crew member to hospital for a<br \/>\nminor ailment.<\/p>\n<p>Andrade says the tug was on its way to Montreal where it was assigned to pick up a ship for scrap.<\/p>\n<p> The Craig Trans was built in 1944 in Florida and is registered in the<br \/>\nlandlocked South American country of Bolivia.
