The deadline for proposals was Thursday, July 4. The companies that made<br \/>\n submissions are Balearia Caribbean, Ltd., P and O Ferries and<br \/>\nSTM\/Quest. STM\/Quest also bid on the last ferry rfp <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.halifaxshippingnews.ca\/2013\/02\/the-new-yarmouth-ferry.html\">(details of that bid Here<\/a>) Balearia Caribbean is owned by spanish company <a href=\"http:\/\/www.balearia.com\/wps\/portal\/corporativo\/web?WCM_GLOBAL_CONTEXT=\/corporativo\/en\/Secciones\/Flota\">Balearia <\/a>&#8211; who operates ferries from florida to the Bahmas, and Gibralter to Africa.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.poferries.com\/\"> P&amp;O Ferries<\/a>, operates several vessels in the English Channel and Irish sea, and is a european contemporary to Marine Atlantic.<\/p>\n<p>A team of representatives from the Nova Scotia<br \/>\nInternational Ferry Partnership and government departments will evaluate<br \/>\n the plans as quickly as possible. The plans will be assessed<br \/>\nbased on criteria similar to the request for proposals.
